If you are reading this, you are old enough to remember when pictures were taken on a roll of film and got developed and printed on paper. Or maybe, if your family were early adopters, you had a Polaroid Land Camera and your pictures pulled out of the bottom of the camera and “auto-magically” developed right before your eyes in mere minutes. Pictures were tangible. Pictures were the first thing people always said they’d pack if they had to evacuate their home. Pictures helped to capture a time, a place, people, moods, emotions, and most importantly, memories.
When each of us thinks back over the last 40 years, we probably do so through a series of mental snap-shots. Images scroll in our mind’s eye and illicit smiles, tears, laughter, wistfulness and all of the other emotions that come with living a full life, rich with experience. But we can also instantly call to mind the faces of people we knew so well 40 years ago when we were all together at Westminster High School. We can recall which of those kids we knew in junior high! Many of us can even do a mental rundown of faces that are familiar to us all the way back to elementary school. So many faces – so many pictures in our mind from very long ago.
At this reunion, we want to take those pictures and Roll Back the Years! We want to take you back to the beginning of this incredible journey and help you recall all of the people who shared your childhood, ‘tweens and teens. Many of these people knew you your whole childhood. They were there while you were trying to decide if you wanted to be a teacher, a nurse, a rodeo clown, a pro football player, an astronaut or a ballerina when you grew up.
Come share the memories and some photos with those people who were there when this journey started. They’ll be waiting to see you on August 4th!
